![]() As has already been mentioned, a Vag-Com KKL 401.9 OBD-usb cable should work they're usually available (Amazon, eBay) for less than $20. ![]() I suspect the ELM adapter does not access the ssm data, and that's why neither FreeSSM nor Romraider are showing any information. With Romraider and FreeSSM, transmission data is also available. Also, OBD II applies primarily to engine data. The FSM has lists of the data that's available from OBD and from ssm. The dealer's Subaru Select Monitor III, FreeSSM and Romraider (as well as the BtSsm Android app) access the ssm stream. The ssm is a data stream that uses a Subaru-specific protocol. The OBD is the data that is required (I believe, by legislation)to be available to anyone with an OBD II-capable scanner. To expand this discussion, I might not have the terminology right, but basically there's separate data streams available from the ECM, what I call OBD, and ssm.
